WHAT: Beginning Monday June 22nd, we will be conducting our first Hatcher Teen Trades Camp, a four-day fun-filled exploring careers in skilled trades. Students in grades six through twelve are invited to roll up their sleeves and have hands-on experience working with skilled tradespeople. The camp will be held mornings from 9:00a.m. to 12:00 Noon here at Hatcher Garden. Students will be immersed in the beauty and wonder of nature while observing and participating in different work skills. Programs are taught by trained educators and their assistants, incorporating SC State Science, Mathematics, Language Arts and Social Studies standards (but don’t tell them that, tell them it is FUN!). CDC guidelines concerning Summer Camps will be observed to ensure a safe environment for the campers.

The program for each of the four days is determined by the weather and garden conditions. Class subjects focus on the various plants living in our woods and their needs as well as the animals that live in our woods and ponds and the various habitats.
