Send Your Love Luminary Walk

On a relatively warm Thursday evening in late February, patrons and sponsors gathered to walk among the Valentine luminaries. For the month of February, the Send Your Love Valentines had been displayed at the Jess Taylor Pavilion for the month of February. But tonight, the individual hand-crafted Valentines were stapled to white paper bags which had been filled with sand and a single tea light then arranged along a path. The luminary path started at the Garden Entry, meandering through the perennial garden, over the Children's Garden bridge and continued into the recently completed section of the Children's Garden. Garden Manager Peggy Henderson‘s granddaughter set a reflective mood by playing the cello in the Children’s Garden Gathering Area. Representatives of Hope Center for Children - Anchor House, whose children crafted the Valentines, and Align Life were present to answer any questions. Refreshments were served. The luminaries continued to burn safely through the night by the light of their LED lights.
